SARA's 7th Annual Museum Reach River of Lights will transform the 1.3 mile segment from Lexington Ave. going north to Grayson St. for the holidays with several light displays from Dec. 3, 2016 through Jan. 2, 2017. This year's holiday display will consist of 100 vibrant multi-colored underwater lights accented by energy-efficient fiber optic lighting elements that provide a kaleidoscope of changing color to the water features along the Museum Reach. Alternating lamp posts, handrails and area trees will be wrapped with energy-saving LED holiday lights, and colored lights will be placed under a number of bridges for added holiday splendor. LED holiday self-standing displays will greet visitors as they walk by. A 27-foot tall Tree of Lights and a seven-foot wreath will greet barge riders as they make their way into the lock and dam.
